Thieves. Grave Robbers. Just no Ghosts or Witches

Thieves2Its that time of year when I start smelling like cinnamon and Clove. Everyone always says to me “Mandy, you smell like Christmas.” I kind of like that. Course, I would also like it if I was told I smelled like the newest coffee drink, “Thieves Macchiato” or something to that effect.
So, what exactly am I wearing and why?
I am wearing a blend of essential oils that Young Living has called “Thieves.” It has quite a few essential oils, but the most recognized smells are usually Cinnamon, Clove and Rosemary. But, why the term “Thieves?”
During the plague of the 15th century, in Marseille, France, there were some looters of the dead (thieves, of course) who were eventually caught and brought to trial for their wrong doing of stealing. During trial, the magistrate offered them leniency. Why? Well, this was during the plague…THE PLAGUE!!! Most people were dying, and here were these thieves, stealing everything they could, and there were healthy? Wouldn’t you want to know why? Well, so did the magistrate. If the thieves coughed up information as to why they were healthy, their lives would be spared.
Well, the rest is history. These thieves carried on them Rosemary, Cinnamon, Clove, Oregano, Eucalyptus and Lemon (and possibly some other herbs).  What we know today is that all these herbs can effectively kill harmful, airborne bacteria. Pretty cool, huh?
What can you do to stay healthy this season?
1)   Rub a drop or 2 on your chest.*
2)   The moment you start to feel sick, Take one drop, put it inside of your mouth on the inside of your check. Do this once a minute for 10 minutes. Then Once an hour.*
3)   Make a Tea
  • Boil the following:
  • Cinnamon – 1 stick
  • Clove – A few cloves
  • Rosemary – 2 Sprigs
  • Oregano – 1 Sprig
  • Lemon – Squeeze one lemon
  • Drink like you would a tea.*
4)  Use it in a spray bottle to fight germs. Put 10 drops of Thieves into a spray bottle. Add water. Gently swirl around. Now go spray down your phones and doorknobs!
5)  Wash your hands regularly
6)  TAKE A DAY OFF! If you are sick, stay home. Your body will be grateful and your coworkers will be thankful.
Where can one score this Amazing “Thieves?” Why, at my clinic, of course!!!!! Stop by and pick some up.
*Due to the potency of cinnamon and clove, if you experience a warming sensation, rub some olive oil on your chest or swish in your mouth.
